2013 Ryder Cup
September 28th, 2013
The Ryder Cup is a 27 Hole Team Event where the Captains match up the teams in three different formats based on handicap indexes. The first nine is a Better Ball of the Two, the second nine is a Modified Alternate shot and the final nine consists of single matches. We would like to thank our Captains, Karl Karlstrom & Mike Basilone for their time and work putting together this event.
The Red Team started out strong in the Best Ball Event capturing eight wins and two halves to take a nine to five lead early in the morning.
1st Nine Results: Red Team 9 pts. Blue Team 5 pts.
The Blue Team put on the rally caps for the second nine and won five of the first nine matches and picked up on point.
2nd Nine Results: Red Team 15 1/2 pts. Blue Team 12 1/2 pts.
Karl Karlstrom needed to put on the full court press and motivate the Blue Team for the final single matches. The Blue Team started off strong and half way through the matches they had pulled within 1 1/2 points of the Red Team. The final fourteen matches were controlled by the Red Team to secure the Ryder Cup for Captain Mike Basilone.
Final Results: Red Team 32 1/2 pts. Blue Team 23 1/2 pts.
